About Me
Geraldine Maddrell grew up in the Wheatbelt of Western Australia among five children. At a very young age, a great swimmer, she spent a lot of time outdoors and making mud pies.
Having five children herself, homeschooling for many years and then running a High School for Students at Risk, Geraldine then spent a couple of years doing aid work in the Philippines.
A creative and adventurous person, Geraldine has always found a way to express herself through art and life.
“It is only when I have the courage to take risks and venture into the unknown that I breakthrough my self-imposed limits and am able to create with authenticity” explains Geraldine.
In 2022 Geraldine completed the Mastery Program with the Milan Art Institute.
She is represented by the Margaret River Art Studio and continues to sell many artworks through this gallery.
Geraldine often meditates before starting a painting, then chooses music to play and dives right into it using a variety of mediums ie inks, spray paints, oil pastels, acrylics and oil paints. She lays down her first layers with gay abandon then develops the theme as the layers progress. Her free expression resonates with many art collectors.
